Massive tragedy . . .

involving one mixed up man, several misguided family and friends, two state legal and penal systems, and the end result is four dead police officers and countless broken lives.

I dream of Peace.
I dream of Love.
I dream that everyone would throw down their guns.

Link to cards at Songbird Avenue...

Here are the cards at Songbird Avenue, and if you are like me, you are anxiously awaiting your favorite photog to get back to you with your prints so you can get your cards out! (i still have visions of being snowbound last year and crafting really crazy artistic structures of macaroni noodles, glue and paint to entertain family and friends, as my procrastination in combo with the weather kept my holiday shopping off until January!)

They're all ready for your pictures, and you're supporting Toys for Tots. Good Deal.

25 Days of Templates...

Tiffany Tillman to the rescue ... of my stalled Daily December album! i love Ali Edwards, she inspires me to no end, but i am not her. i do not have, in toto, the creativity that exists in her right pinky. i can however, follow directions, read a map, am good with a plan. frankly i need one. am quite lost without one. Thus, my stalled Daily December album.

Tiffany is doing a guided class - with videos for those of us whom are visually motivated - and templates, and prompts, and a drop dead gorgeous kit by paislee press designs! - and then it's all on us. And of course our day to day challenges, but that's scrap material, right?

Here's the info, and more can be found on Tiff's blog:

iNSD weekend is here...

yiyiyi... wheesh ... is the sound of Thomas the Train and me trying to decide how to budget and still take advantage of all these fab-u-lous sales going on!

Here's what i've found so far:

My Four Hens Photography: All actions 50% off! Holy cow, Sarah! Hugs and Kisses! 11/6-7. Run over there now. Sarah rocks. I use her actions and Cheryl Muhr's nearly exclusively.

After 5 Designs: 30% off storewide - but definitely do the blog hop to your favorite designers over there for extra goodness

Catscrap: 30% off storewide - and who doesn't love them some creashens? and she's collab'in' again with Kristen Rice! bonus! Plus Lizzy Reiber makes her designing debut!

Scrapbookgraphics: disc. differs by designer, but personally, I'm loading up on WendyZine goodies to get rollin' on getting more digi layouts actually onto paper...

Lily-Pad: new BYOC, Designs by Lili is home at the Pad, and disc. differs by product

Plus I'm sure there's more to come, as um, it's not even iNSD day proper yet....

Sneak Peeks for Sweet Shoppe 11.07.09 ...

yummy goodness coming your way from Misty and Julie :

girly treat from Fee:

and hold on to your socks, what a kit to be grateful for from Lauren Reid, Misty Cato, and Dani Mogstad - one mighty fab trio I'd love to see collab again, because this was one smooooth kit to worth with, a complete easy delight:

Songbird Avenue: Toys In The Attic

i was recently granted the tremendous honor to join the creative team of Songbird Avenue. Jan and Meredith of Songbird Avenue have a wonderful idea - combining scrapbooking and charity. Each month, a different designer or group of designers, gets together with Meredith, Jan, Janet Phillips, and collabs to spin out one fantastic kit - with the proceeds being donated to charity, the choice of that month's guest designer.

This month the charity is Toys for Tots, and the kit is Toys in the Attic , and it is huge, and just the thing ahead of Christmas:

it is so much fun to play with!

so hop on over there, know that you are making some poor child smile just when s/he needs to, and also get to enjoy this fab-u-lous kit to help you ring in and get ready for the holidays!

An absolutely fab charity collab...

and even better, it's for the Autism Society of America. If you know of, or have had the opportunity to spend time with a family of a child of autism, you have seen the impact living with this mysterious, heart pulling, of misdiagnosed condition is, both for the child, and its parents, siblings, and those who care. Even more frustrating is the global lack of information and understanding.

38 digi designers have pulled together and created one HUGE and positively fabulous charity collab kit My Big Adventure: A Charity Collab for Autism and it is ABSOLUTELY jam packed full of yummy-ness - I mean FULL!

so.. they had me already for the autism bit, but please, do go check out this fabulous kit? yes, it's $10, but trust me, sooo worth it! there is also an awesome QP album if that is more your thing...

Catching up... again...

sad news this week, {we are} storytellers is closing its doors. I will miss this store, as it has really helped me focus my scrapbooking on preserving the memories I may not capture in the busy day to day, journaling even my scattered thoughts, snippets, new phrases, bits and annotations, pieces that make up what we cannot replace later... and not just chasing the latest and greatest scrapping trend. Although their designers are top notch, and I hope to be able to find them quickly wherever they land soon... I will miss the community and mission, the sense of purpose behind the classy store.

Pages from April...

ok, now that this is becoming a somewhat regular habit, hahaha, guess the thing to do would be to post some of the pages of April... so here are a few of them, and if you really want to see them bigger or the rest(?) you can head over to the galleries - they're linked on the right.

As both Julie and Misty sell at Sweet Shoppe Designs, I am most active in the forum there, so the gallery at Sweet Shoppe Designs has more pages for challenges, etc. The galleries at digishoptalk and myscrapbookart are more to showcase Julie, Misty and Tiffany's work to the digi community at large in the interest of getting the word out about their fabulous products. And they are -- go see! the shops are also linked to the right - in the creative teams section.

Happy iNSD!

Happy iNSD (inter-National Scrapbooking Day) and whoo boy! have the stores turned on the sales! lots of fun goodies out there...

Some of my had to haves were at After 5 Designs, the Farmers Market at Scrap Orchard (who can turn down a $1 sale? - though that scavenger hunt kicked my booty, Mel!), Shabby Pickle (again $1), and Studio WendyZine at ScrapbookGraphics because I Will Print Out Layouts This Year.

The presale at WST was the best! thank you Deann and Patrick! and the goody collab from the LilyPad were worth budgeting and waiting patiently for NSD for my backlogged stockpile wishlist of TLP wonderfulness. Joanna and Creashens Green kit at CatScrap - well it's definitely my splurge... but look, isn't it just gorgeous?

more things change, more things stay...

the same? those of you who know me well, know that I'm a bit, um, linear. Like things in order. Ducks in a row. Lineups set. And all that. So it probably does not surprise you in the least that I have three different organization thingys for the trunk of the car I drive most often. Ah, well. It does help, Really. Ok, just smile and nod.

Since the arrival of the munchkin, well disorder and chaos can and do appear to wreck havoc and mayhem all around me, so I like to Be Prepared. Thus, my trunk is a bit More Organized. I know, It's Getting Scary. But I digress, this was supposed to be about...

Earth Day! continued - one great way to save this dear planet, and we only get this one people, and our dear kids have to live here when we leave - is to stop using plastic bags. Not only will they not degrade in however may lifetimes, but they multiply seemingly like rabbits anywhere you put them in your house, cut off the circulation in your fingers when carrying them in multiple, and in multiple is always a necessity as they seemingly only manage to hold a maximum of three items.

The answer: re-usable bags. Check out Lots of options. What you see below, well those are the ones from the local groceries. The nice ones from reusable bags - those are in the organization system (er, purse) I carry with me.

my little happy pills....

come from Godiva, where else?

and so portable - see the back of the box on the right? the hinge for the flip lid? These are like the Dilettante pearls, yet oh, so more purse portable. Just the thing to put the smile right back where it should be. Even before the economy took this turn, we were budgeting, so no more Tully's trips, but these little treats? Very, verry hard to resist....
